Who We Are

NEI is an institute of National Institutes of Health which conducts and supports research that helps prevent and treat eye diseases and other disorders of vision. The research has led to sight-saving treatments, reduces visual impairment and blindness and improves the quality of life for people of all ages. Research is conducted by NEI staff at our facilities in Bethesda, MD (intramural), basic and clinical labs.

Information on eye diseases and vision research can be provided upon request if you prefer paper information instead of online information. Website has eye health information from A-Z.
