Flu and Pnemonia Shots

Who We Are
Alexandria City Health Department offers flu and pneumonia shots. The Health Department strongly encourages people in the following high-risk groups to be vaccinated:
Pregnant Women; Children and young adults up to age 24; Adults ages 25 to 64 with chronic illness such as asthma and diabetes; Healthcare workers; and Caregivers of children younger than six months of age
Influenza vaccine is available in the Alexandria Health Department (AHD) Immunization Clinic during the flu season.
Flu shots are generally offered beginning in late September or early October.
Immunization hours are:
Mondays: Immunizations from 8AM until 11AM and from 2PM until 6PM
Tuesday through Friday: Appointment required
Pneumonia vaccine is available year-round. H1N1 vaccinations are now available to everyone over 6 months. Both nasal mists and injectable (shots) vaccines will be available.
