Valley Metro Public Bus Service

Valley Metro (Greater Roanoke Transit Company)  offers public fixed-route bus transportation. For bus schedule information, call between 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Monday through Saturday, and ask an information officer to help you find the closest bus stop or view online the various bus routes and schedules. There is no service on Sundays and certain holidays. Buses have bicycle racks. buses are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1993, and the entire fleet is wheelchair accessible. 

Effective February 28, 2022, the Campbell Court transfer facility has been moved to the Third Street Station at Third Street and Salem Avenue, in front of the Virginia Museum of Transportation.

Fare information is available on the website. The basic cash one-way fare is $1.75. Exact change is required; operators do not carry change.  Adults aged 65 and older, people with disabilities, and Roanoke city students aged 18 and under are charged 85 cents. Photo identification is required.
