Individual insurance counseling and assistance is available through Mountain Empire Older Citizen's Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program (VICAP). Trained VICAP counselors in the community provide free confidential assistance to individuals in their area. Information is provided by certified volunteer counselors to groups and individuals to help them better understand Medicare, Medicare Supplemental Insurance, Medicare Part D (prescription drug plan), Medicare Plus plans, Long Term Care Insurance, Medicaid, and other insurance. Counselors can assist in filing claims and appeals.
