Who We Are

The primary goal of the Arlington Public Health Services programs is to promote the health of the Arlington community and to prevent diseases and conditions that would harm the community.  Most clinics in this Health District require proof of Arlington County residence using photo identification or a Medicaid card; proof of income such as pay stubs. Clinic fees are charged on a sliding scale; some services are free to low-income residents.  Services include:

  • Communicable Diseases - Tuberculosis, Reporting Diseases, Disease Surveillance and Investigation
  • Immunizations
  • Environmental Health - Restaurants, farmer's markets, hotels/motels, pools, massage therapy, rodent control
  • Clinics- Dental, Family Planning, Maternity, Child Health, Refugee Services, Teen Health
  • School Health
  • Nutrition for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
  • Parent-Infant Education (PIE)
  • STI/HIV Services and Virginia Medication Assistance Program (VA MAP)
