Elder Justice Task Force

For elderly, sexual and domestic violence presents somewhat differently that what we have traditionally understood. The Women's Resoruce Center and the Agency on Aging facilitate an Elder Justice Task Force to improve resources and services. The group is made up of concerned professionals and individuals with a particular interest in the area’s older population. The mission of the task force is to increase awareness and improve community response to older adults experiencing domestic and/or sexual violence. This group includes forensic nurses, adult service providers, social workers, law enforcement officers, experts in gerontology, attorneys, individuals in later life, and others. Meetings are from 2-4 pm at the Montgomery County Human Services Bldg on the 2nd Thursday in October and December.
